|| PENSIVES AND MIRRORS ||

  • What memories would you put in your pensive?
None. I don't particularly like hanging myself over the past, so even if there's good memories alongside the bad, I'd rather focus on the present over the rest. Besides, the past is done with, and the present is what I'm living in, so logically it doesn't make much sense for me to focus on what cannot be changed.

  • What memory would you visit the most often?
Ah, well, again, I don't like focusing on the past, so my pensive would be rather empty of memories~

  • What do you wish to accomplish in life?
I'd like to be successful (in what, I'm still not sure. Web design, graphics design and a career in teaching are all up to debate still) and hopefully with lots of money in the account, but I doubt that'll really ever happen, lol.

  • Where do you see yourself in ten years?
    Hmm, I don't know~
The future's one huge variable anyway, and it can change any second of the day, so surprise me ;D

  • What do you see when you look at yourself in the Mirror of Erised?
There's nothing I want back from the past that I've now realised I can't have/am better off without, so I can only really look towards the future. I'd see myself with my suitcases, dressed in H&M clothes with the glasses and all, looking proud and respected, about to board my plane. The flight's headed to Tokyo, and from there I can see in my hand a planner. Inside the little planner is my compilation made over the years of all of the countries and cities I've ever wanted to visit. There's Central London, the Nazca Lines in Peru, Volendam in Netherlands, Korea, the list goes on.
I'm travelling alone - just the way I've always pictured it.

    || CHOICES SHOW WHAT WE TRULY ARE ||

  • Do you consider yourself a leader or follower?
It depends entirely on the circumstances, and the circumstances in question are forever changing. Like, being around different people brings out different sides of me. If I'm with a loud, rowdy group of friends, then I'll be louder than I would have been normally had I been with a quieter group of friends.

  • What would you do if you had a time turner?
Get a job. I'd use the time turner to juggle both college, my job and studying time so that I can stay on top of everything. College's pretty important at this stage if I want to go on to Uni (which I do), and money is pretty much a necessity in our world, so I'd use it to do a little mgaical~ time management

  • What do you think your top 5 positive characteristics are?
    01. Sense of adventure. Personally, I think I have a wild sense of adventure. My friends think it's crazy but that's their opinion. I'm the kind of person that likes to explore about in forests and wander away from the group just for the fun of it.

    02. Easygoing nature? Or just my laidback nature in general.
Life throws crap so I'll just roll with it. I'll complain for the sake of complaining but nothing really bother me like it should I think. I've been told before by my teacher that I can be so laidback and blasse that he'd have to check me for a pulse just to make sure I'm still alive.

    03. Sense of humour. I'm not saying I'm hilarious, but I crack the ocassional smile on people's faces. I get told I'm quirky and I tend to laugh at really bad jokes, so I think it counts.

    04. Daring? Not at extreme, daredevil-like levels. But if we're playing 21 Dares or Spin the Bottle I follow out the dares, no problem. Within reason though.

    05. Imagination, because it can keep me entertained for days.

  • What do you think your top 5 negative characteristics are?
    01. Impatience is a big one with me, because there are times when I'm patient and fine with waiting days for an package to arrive or something like that with no problem, and then there are the times when I'm playing Tomb Raider and all patience just flies right out the window.
I've wrecked my Gameboy Color aged eight when I couldn't beat the Elite Four in Pokemon Red by dashing it at the floor. I've thrown Playstation controllers when I can't beat a boss after three or so tries. I tend to shout at the TV screen too. Actually, I'm not even sure if you can call that impatience anymore, it's more like a brief moment of insanity.

    02. My fears, if only because I have a deathly fear of spiders and insects and a not-so-bad phobia of sharp things and extreme heights. The phobia of sharp, pointy objects only really hits if I'm sitting in a hospital, because there is no way in Hell I'm ever letting anyone stick a needle in my arm.
If I see a spider, I just drop everything and run.

    03. Indecision, because I have a tendency to swap and change my mind and my concentration levels aren't the greatest. I can never stay focused on one thing long enough to stick with one, solid idea. Goes with the overractive mind methinks.

    04. I'm also incredibly stubborn. I have this long, two-year arguement with a friend over whether it's Walt Disney World Florida or Walt Disney Land Florida. I keep telling her it's World but she's stubborn as well and keeps insisting it's Land. I doubt it'll ever end, but that's cool with me because argueing can also be fun.

    05. Grudges. I hold them for ever~. I never forget and I always bring it up whenever I can. I'm forgiving, but if something happens that I absolutely cannot forgive, like a friend breaks my CD or loses one of my favourite video-games, then I'll never move on from it.

    || WE MUST UNITE INSIDE HER, OR WE'LL CRUMBLE FROM WITHIN ||

  • Who would you be friends with at Hogwarts?
Luna Lovegood most likely. She's displayed immense courage and loyalty when it counts the most, which is something I admire greatly in a person. The poor girl's a little missunderstood perhaps? Sure she's different, but I'd rather be friends with a social anomaly than a social conformist.

  • Taking into consideration that the wizard chooses his or her Patronus, what would yours be?
    A giraffe.
I asked a friend 'if I had a Patronus, what would mine be?' and she replied with 'Giraffe. I just connect them with you'. And I have to agree that strangely, it fits. I'm pretty tall at 5'11" and a giraffe is a calm animal. Slow-moving when at leisure and observant of its surroundings. Kinda like me~

  • Have you read all of the Harry Potter books? If yes, which one did you enjoy the most? If not, which one is your favourite so far?
I actually like all of the books equally, but Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite because of:
    1) Sirius Black
    2) Buckbeak attacking Draco
    3) The time turner mayhem
    4) Professor Trelawney~
But really, the only reason why I rate PoA higher is because it was the first book from the series I found. My parents got me the first three, and the UK cover art for the Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets wasn't that good in my opinion, but PoA looked ~amazing with Harry and Hermione on Buckbeak's back, looking all epic high in the sky and shit. So that's really my only reason, lmao.

  • Choose a quote from any of the Harry Potter books and make sure to cite who said it. Explain why this quote is your favourite.
"NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!" - and I think we all know who screams this epic one-liner by this point.
Molly screams this as she KO's Bellatrix Lestrange in that epic climatic scene, saving Ginny's life and breaking the 'no explicit swear words' rule J.K.R had kept up since the beginning of Philosopher's Stone. Kinda ironic too, since the beginning and the entirety of the Harry Potter series is marked by Lily's motherly instinct in protecting her son, and here we have Molly, who practically charges in there like a raging bull to defend her daughter.

  • Name: Jessi
  • Age: 16
  • How did you find Phoenix? It got linked in chat the other day~
  • What made you first start reading the Harry Potter series?
Honestly, nothing really. My mum first bought the books for me but I didn't like them much because of the cover illustrations since I was such a really, fussy kid. Then she kept urging me on to try and read them so I eventually caved and gave '... the Prisoner of Azkaban' a try, then got told by everyone to read the first one first then that one, and that was round about how it all started.

You're app was a bit short. Despite that, it was a fun read. Entertaining. I enjoyed reading this and the giraffe part made me smile. I can totally picture that, just from what I've seen of you.

I want you for my own house, but I must be fair and place you in Ravenclaw.

    Photobucket
Just a reminder that the house you are voting the applicant into needs to go in the subject line.

    Thank you kindly.

    Your Gryffindor HoH,
    Mandy
I tried to look past the fact that I know you, but it wasn't working out so well, lol. Anyways, I saw Gryffindor in all of your answers. Nothing that really stood out to me to vote you into that particular house; it was just a general vibe I got.

Welcome to Phoenix, Jessi, and good luck with the rest of your sorting!

For now, I am going to say No Vote. And my reasoning on that is that I got a mix of three houses for you, and since yout application was so short, I couldn't get a feeling for where to sort you. Your negetive and postive traits were where I got the most out of you, but the rest was too short for me to get a handle on where to sort you. I am sorry, but I am sure you will get sorted, I just could not get a feel of where to put ya. That aside, welcome to Phoenix and good luck with the rest of your sorting.

Alright, let's see where we can sort you...

    1. The logic here points very much to Ravenclaw.

    2. No vibe on this, of course, as there really isn't an answer to get a feeling from.

    3. The desire to be successful can go to pretty much any house but I'm giving this one to Gryffindor.

    4. No vibe on this one, again, because there is no answer here in which I can get a feeling from.

    5. I actually have to put this one to Ravenclaw. There is a side of Ravenclaw that I always thinks loves traveling all over the world.

    6. I can't get a vibe from this answer. In truth, you started to answer the question in that you said you would change according to circumstance. But then you popped up with how you behave loudly when your friends are loud and I don't see how that relates to being a leader or follower. No vibe.

    7. This answer has Ravenclaw all over it. School being a priority and still using logic to know you need money.
    8. Sense of adventure - Gryffindor for sure. Even the part about your friends thinking you crazy! Easy going - I'm actually going to have to give this to Gryffindor. I know we don't see Gryffindor as laid-back, but the fact that you can roll with the punches speaks more to me. Sense of humor - Totally Gryffindor. Weasley twins much? Not all their humor was exactly the best. Daring - The daredevils come from Gryffindor for sure. Imagination - Ravenclaw period. This house has the best intelligence and it takes a good amount of intelligence to be entertained by your own imagination for days.

    9. Impatience - This is very Gryffindor and Slytherin of you. Fears - I can't really gleen a vibe from this one although I can agree and empathize completely. I hate needles and spiders with a passion. Indecision - Gryffindor with a hint of Ravenclaw here. I think, although intelligent, Ravenclaw can often suffer from overactive mind issues including inability to make a decision. And Gryffindor has a tendency to have problems coming to a decision but can follow it though once they do. Stubborn - Gryffindor hands down. Grudges - Gryffindor and Slytherin for sures. These two houses hold grudges for certainly. *nods*

    10. I'm giving this to Hufflepuff and Gryffindor for the traits you admire in Luna.

    11. This has too much logic behind it to give me anything other than Ravenclaw.

    12. Unfortunately, although I love your reasoning for choosing PoA, I'm not finding a vibe to go with it.

    13. Gryffindor, Gryffindor, Gryffindor - and one of the reasons I'm proud to be compared to Molly Weasley!

    Hufflepuff - 1
    Gryffindor - 10
    Ravenclaw - 6
    Slytherin - 2
    No Vibe - 5

Well, I'll be honest in saying I was afraid I was going to have to go with No Vote for the brevity of the application. Fortunately, I was able to get some strong vibes in there on some of the answers. Had the numbers been anything besides obvious, I would have had to go with my first instinct. However, after reading through and looking carefully, I've got to vote you to Gryffindor. I hope to see you in my house.

Welcome to Phoenix and good luck with your sorting.

I got strong vibes for both Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, honestly. You seem like a very logical person and if I could vote you into Gryffinclaw, I would. Your traits really sealed the Gryffindor for me and it was a pretty even mix despite that.

Good luck with the rest of your sorting and welcome!

    Well done, Jessi.
